Where Has My Storage Gone on My Android

I have a HTC Extraordinary m8 lengthways 5.0.1 and having problems with not being able to make unnecessary/download anything attributable lack of warehousing distance.

Look the storage section in Settings it says i'm victimisation 15.63gb/16.00gb. This is made up from...

    Apps - 10.90gb
    Music - 138mb
    Photos & videos - 464mb
    Downloads - 71.54mb
    Other - 4.08gb

I have looked at making many space and it appears that the apps are giving false readings. I wear't have many apps connected the phone and the largest same is showing as 1282mb. Look the memory board through an external app (Store Analyser), I receive the following readings...

    Home Storage
    Total: 10.58gb Misused: 10.21gb Complimentary: 377.45mb
Used past publicly accessible files: 5.39gb
    Used by android/outback files: 4.83gb

    Clicking on the circle reveals...
    DCIM: 3.79gb
    Android: 1.14gb
    data: 120.96mb
    WhatsApp: 115.48mb
    Snapchat: 72.79mb
    Download: 71.64mb

At that place seems to be 3.79gb taken dormy inside the DCIM folder with something titled 'thumbnails'.

Anyone more in the love, have whatever approximation what is on and how to fix it? I can't download whatever apps and am having to go under any photos/videos to an South Dakota card.

    Thanks in advance

Go to settings - apps and check the size of cached data in all your gallery apps. Most likely those thumbnails are included on that point. You can safely take in that cache and force play Android to reconstruct the thumbnails from call off next time you susceptible the gallery. It's possible that those cache files are related to yellowed photos that you don't own anymore in your phone. Tell off U.S.A how IT goes.

To the highest degree apps will preserve data caches.
This can decrease open quad on your phone.
Try to clear some of your applications programme's cache by selecting "CLEAR CACHE" on the App Info menu.

Thank you for your help oneself. I have followed a tutorial and cleared the cache (via Wipe Hoard Sectionalization). Information technology doesn't seem to have ready-made a difference to the storage.
